The Herbarium is open throughout the day to Plant Biology faculty and
students. Other individuals wishing to consult the Herbarium, or those
from Plant Biology needing assistance, should arrive during the
scheduled hours posted below or
make prior arrangements with the Curator or Assistant Curator. We
also recommend that individuals visiting from outside the local area
contact us in advance so that we can ensure that someone will be ready
to assist you upon your arrival.
Scheduled Hours (Fall semester 2009):
Monday 8-10 am & 1-2 pm
Tuesday 8-12 am
Wednesday 8-10 am & 1-5 pm
Thursday 8-11 am
Friday 1-5 pm
The Hepatic Herbarium (ABSH)
The Hepatic Herbarium of the American Bryological and Lichenological
Society is housed in the Department of Plant Biology. It consists
of over 25,000 specimens of mainly U.S. hepatics. The director
of this herbarium is Dr. Raymond
Stotler (emeritus). Dr. Stotler and Dr. Barbara Crandall-Stotler
maintain the Bryophytes
webpage.
